Solo Slide

His first time going down any slide without a spotter. He had already gone once or twice by the time I took this video, and each time ended the same, awesome way. The only difference was that the first time, he just laid there for a lot longer, with an expression like he was unsure what to do next. But he got the hang of it pretty quick, and later the same day, Anne took him to the park where he went solo on a big slide!

Fun On The Slide

He did this over and over and over and over and over and over again at the park one day. The dual slides were nice - I could slide next him to prevent his tendency to fall back as he slid down. I was just impressed with how his climbing skills have developed.

Wouldn't It Be Nice

Dominic's favorite song to dance to for a little while was the Beach Boys' "Wouldn't It Be Nice." We missed filming the first, best time he danced through the whole song, but this second time was pretty impressive as well.

Stunt Baby!

So Dominic performed his first of what will surely be endless stunts last night. He had already done it twice when I started filming, and pretty much kept going until he exhausted himself for bed. Don't feel like you have to watch the full 9 minutes, but I included it all just for kicks...

Fun With Frank's Nose and Spinning

Dom's been interacting with Frank more and more, even when Frank's trying to sleep sometimes. This was a fun example on Saturday that shows how good they're both getting with each other.

Getting Ready For Bed

After his dinner and bath, we usually just relax in Dom's room for a while, winding him down for bedtime. I caught a couple minutes of it on Monday night that includes a bit of everything. You can see him playing with Mommy from across the room, checking the iPod speaker as one song ends and the next begins (he does it with almost every song), doing a little dancing, a little heavy lifting, and at the end, he's just starting to help put his new diapers away. He actually helped quite a bit with that - putting them right where they're supposed to go and then beaming with pride. Anyway, enjoy!

Dom's Reggae Dance Party

Dominic was getting quite frustrated with me until I realized he wanted me to turn the TV to a music channel, so he could unleash his killer dance moves. My first attempt - classic rock - didn't quite cut it so I switched to reggae, and unleash he did.

The cut under his eye is from a couple days ago when his virus had him a little woozie and off balance. But as you can see, he's good as new now!

Dominic - Beast Master

I took him out of his little blue push-car and he really wanted to hold Frank's leash, so I gave it to him. Frank was sooooo good about it all.

HE WALKS

He actually started walking about a week and a half ago, but catching him doing it on video was like catching a bigfoot sighting until now. He's doing it more and more every day. I particularly like how, in this video, he points to Anne before starting, as if to say "I'm headed to you Mama, so get ready!"

The Riddle Of The Pancake Decoded

Watch Dominic learn how to feed himself a pancake right before your very eyes!

SPAGHETTI!!!

Further evidence that Dominic is indeed my boy.

First Time Self-Spoon Feeding

We've tried teaching Dominic to feed himself with his spoon in the past with no luck. But Anne tried again a couple days ago and suddenly this happened! We especially love the mischevious grin he gets when he's holding the spoon. He gets excited to touch stuff that he hasn't been able or allowed to in the past, and the spoon falls into that category.

Feet Are Funny

This one's pretty self-explanatory...

Candid Dom

A little candid shot of Dom from brunch on President's Day that really does sum up so much of what life with him is like. I'd have to say he's definitely a beach baby. That's some laid-back body language.

Feeding Daddy Apple

He's happy as long as we're eating the same thing, and yesterday that meant him coming over and feeding me pieces of his apple. It was hard to frame well, but you can see it once at least.

Climbing The Stairs

He climbed the stairs the first time on his 11 month birthday. This was the second time when he did it again the next day. Now he does it all the time - just moments ago in fact.

First Day With His New Walker

He got the walker as a Christmas present from his cousin Amy's family, and was truckin' around the house in it by the next morning!

Discovering The Joys Of T.P.

He discovered the joys of flushing the toilet on the same day, too.
